“During the past year I've been captivated by the awesomeness of gradients. By awesomeness, I mean the infinite range of color combinations and visual excitement to play with. Usually the creation of a design takes the most time and effort. However, with the Fusion sculpture it was definitely the gradient color combos that I (happily) got lost in creating. If you look closely there are two sets of (5) color bars that interact with the opposing set to create some fun visual interactions. The Miami & N.Y.C. colorways were directly inspired by my associations with each respective city. The ocean colors of turquoise, blues, and greens for Miami. The N.Y.C. colorway of soft creme, orange, to deep purple for those warmer October evenings. Take a closer look for yourself.
I designed the Fusion sculpture to be installed at a 45 degree angle. I felt that this angle makes for a more interesting way for the gradients to interact, and a unique way to read the piece as a whole. Each piece is slightly different in it's gradient, (technically) making each piece an original work. I spent meticulous time spray painting each gradient, each piece is similiar, but slightly different. Thank you in advance for your support. -Tavar :-) ”
